They offer a range of clinical evaluations for cosmetic as well as personal care products for over a decade now. Under the stewardship of Mr. Mohit Lalvani, Founder of MSI, the company has made major strides in establishing the company as leading brand.
In an exclusive interview, Varun Rawal – Chief Operating Officer, Mascot Spincontrol reveals the winning formula which lead the company on a phenomenal growth path in a remarkably short span of time.

Q1. How long has Mascot Spincontrol been in the industry for and who are your major clients?
Well, to begin with, we’re a joint venture between Spincontrol France and Mascot Universal. 10 years ago, our Founder Mr. Mohit Lalvani started Mascot Spincontrol India with the vision to help Indian personal care brands provide certified and expert-tested products to the country’s consumers. Over the past decade, we have had the opportunity to be associated with some prestigious names in the industry like Reliance, Big Basket, Flipkart, Lotus Herbals, Kama Ayurveda, Sun Pharma, etc., along with many successful startups like Mama Earth, MomsCo., Minimalist, Wow Cosmetics and more. We’ve also worked with some international names like Lubrizol, Hemas, ICL, etc.
Q2. What do you think differentiates Mascot Spincontrol from the rest of the clinical research centers in the country?
At Mascot Spincontrol, we offer brands tailor-made solutions for products as per their requirements. We help products find their claims and take them 'from the lab to the shelf’. Our wide range of services and protocols designed by experts for safety and efficacy tests of personal care and cosmetic products, has something in store for everyone. Additionally, we are extremely proud of our client servicing and keeping up the faith of our clientele. I believe it is this skill, that forms a personal connect between them and us.
Q3. Mascot Spincontrol has recently developed a good social media presence. How did this come about?
Well, it was an idea I always had in mind ever since I had joined MSI. But it was only last year when the pandemic hit that this idea came to life. Most Indian CROs are either not active on social media or only use it to post volunteer requirements. We decided to use our social media to educate personal care brands and consumers about clinical trials and the importance of using clinically tested products. This will not only help establish the importance of using tested and certified products but will also give consumers access to safer and more effective products.
Q4. What would you say is your biggest strength as an organization?
I believe that our biggest strength is our team, and the vision of our founder, Mr. Mohit Lalvani. His leadership and guidance, coupled with his decades of experience in the personal care industry, have been our driving force so far.
Q5. Tell us something about the key people in your team and their industry experience.
Firstly, I would say we are really lucky to have a dynamic and passionate team like this. The whole operations unit for Mascot Spincontrol is headed by Kinjal Trivedi, who comes with over 10 years of professional experience and has been with us since the very beginning. Then, we have our Business Development and Projects Manager, Rwittika De, who comes with over 7 years of experience. Along with that we have our chief dermatologist Dr. Raji Patil who comes with over 13 years of global experience. She has been associated with us for more than 5 years now. Our Clinical Head Lalitagauri Dhuri and our Quality Assurance Head Shraddha Jadhav have been trained by Spincontrol France and have been with MSI since the inception of the company. So, we are a strong bunch. Every single person, from the technicians to the analysts and the volunteers as well, has contributed to our growth and development as an organization, and we are extremely grateful for all of them.
